DICKEY

TURTLE NECK

Rounds 8-14: work K2,P2 ribbing.
Change to a size smaller needle and continue in K2,P2 ribbing until work measures 5” from cast on edge, approximately 25 rows. (Adjust length here longer or shorter).
Change to larger needle and work 1 Round as follows:
Purl 40 sts for the front. INCREASE one st, *knit next 2 sts, Inc 1 st. Repeat from * across next 40 sts (60 sts) for the back (Total 100 sts).
Start working in Seed (Moss) Stitch (Round1: K1,P1, Rnd2: P1,K1) or favorite stitch.
Work 6 Rounds.

DIVIDE FOR FRONT
Round 39: Knit 40 sts (front). Put remaining 60 sts on holder (back) TURN; Purl back across the 40 sts just knit.
BEGIN FRONT SHAPING:
(RSF) Work 39 sts, turn.
(WSF) Work 38 sts, turn.
Continue with these two rows working 1 st less on each row until 2 sts remain (38 rows).
NEXT ROW: (RSF) P2 sts, With circular or dp needles, Pick up the unworked stitch from side front and make 1 st by picking up and purling the thread between the unworked stitches (38 sts) (this sounds more complicated than it is); Purl across the 60 sts on holder for back; Pick up the unworked stitch from the other side front and make 1 st by picking up and purling the thread between the unworked stitches (38 sts) Total 138 sts.
Place marker; join at left side and work  6 rounds as follows:
