| Inside Band | |
| With
Crochet hook one size larger than the needle size stated in your
pattern for the Rib, make a chain equal to the number of Cast On
Stitches in your pattern, join into a circle
without twisting, pick up 1 loop in each chain and place on a needle or Use
the needle you will be working the Rib with. Work in Stockinette Stitch (Stocking Stitch) for 1 inch. Leave stitches on a holder or spare needle. |

| With Wrong Side
of band facing using the needle you will be working the Rib with pick up 1
loop in each chain and place on needle. Work in rib pattern of choice for 1 inch*. With Right Side of work facing fold band so that holder or spare needle is parallel to working needle. Maintain Rib pattern and knit together 1 stitch from each needle to join the bands. A circle of elastic can be encased in the band if desired. Work 1 more row of Rib Pattern. Follow instructions for Main Part of Hat. |
